A performer salutes the king.

“Daulat Tuanku,” which literally means “long live the king” in Bahasa Melayu, is a gesture that subjects make when greeting or saluting monarchy.

This picture was taken during a celebration at Dataran Merdeka, Kuala Lumpur, honoring the installment of Malaysia’s 13th king, the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin from Terengganu.
