Penang’s Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) will be holding its 3rd annual English elocution contest.

It’s a great opportunity to polish your public speaking skills and speak out for critters of all shapes and sizes.

Theme: Animals in the 21st Century
Venue: Sentral Technology College, Jalan Zainal Abidin (Off Jalan Macalister/Jalan Burmah)
Date for the preliminary round: 21 July 2007 (Saturday)
Date for the finals: Finals: 28 July 2007 (Sunday)
Eligibility: Open to all students 16 to 20 years of age nationwide
Prizes: RM500, RM300, RM100 with Trophies

Rules: No visual and audio aid during presentation
Speech duration: Minimum of 5 minutes, maximum of 7 minutes
Registration Dateline: 10 July 2007

  1. Supporting pet stores and breeders promotes cruelty and slavery as many animals are raised in poor conditions and used only to produce more offsping. These poor animals are then abandoned when they become sick or when they no longer produce abundant litters for sale.

    Please adopt your next furry companion. Thank you for saving a life. Namaste.

    We would like to invite you to attend the Grand Finals of our 3rd Annual English Elocution Contest on Saturday, 28th July 2007 at Sentral Technology College, Jalan Zainal Abidin. It starts at 9am and all are welcome! There shall be no admission charges and refreshments will be served.
