Ebook? Earlier publicity material promoting this contest made no mention of the fact that the “book” promised would in fact be an ebook. The first mention of an ebook was on Nov 20, after the winners were decided. Why so late?

I’ll be honest. Because of a lack of qualified entries, theCICAK will not be publishing a physical book. This explains the “lateness” of the decision as well.
As we see it, the current alternative is to publish an e-book, which will both save costs and be more versatile in terms of distribution. Also, we think that the e-book is the ideal solution to the current situation since it maintains the spirit of the project, but doesn’t need the quantity of entries of a physical book.
The cash prizes were still awarded.
